Summary
It can be helpful to keep different profiles in the Login VSI Management Console. Saving a profile will retain all the settings set in the Login VSI Management Console at that point in time.
Note: profiles contain all Login VSI Management Console settings, from all pages and options found in the Login VSI Management Console.
Reasons to use
- To retain what a working state of a test configuration is. Even if changing the target test environment and the associated settings, the prior configuration can be reflected upon.
- To keep a trail of changes over time. Especially if the test settings configured in the Login VSI Management Console are about to be majorly changed.
- When flip-flopping often between different target environments to test against
- To keep a backup of the profile before upgrading the Login VSI installation -- just in case!
- To perform automated testing using the Login VSI command-line automation tool (loginvsicmd.exe)

- Profiles can be saved, loaded, and overwritten using the buttons on the bottom of the Login VSI Management Console:
- To easily transfer profiles or to back them up, they're located at \\{Login_VSI_server}\{Login_VSI_share}\_vsi_profiles\{profile_name} -- Note this path won't exist until the first profile is saved.
